Dreamforce 2019: Day 3

Updated: Jun 26, 2020

As you guys probably know, Dreamforce 2019 is happening right now! I have the amazing opportunity to attend the largest Salesforce conference, happening every year in San Francisco, and I want to share as much as I can of my experience with you guys.

Here are the key takeaways from Day 3 :

Dreamforce 2019 MiniHacks:

Dreamforce is a great place to learn from the speakers, but it's also the occasion to get hands-on with some and learn by actually doing it. MiniHacks are small challenges you can do in any developer org. Plus, if you are at Dreamforce, they are a great way to get some cool Salesforce swag!

You can try the Minihacks yourself right here!

President Barack Obama Keynote review:

"Being a leader is identifying power in others and helping them unleash it "

Dreamforce wouldn't be Dreamforce without some inspirational speakers.

This year, President Obama was here to share the work he's doing to help and develop young leaders all around the world.

While this keynote was less around tech, it helps put in perspective the amazing things people can do to help our community and people around us.

For more information bout the Obama Foundation, visit the official website.

SMB keynote review:

Salesforce is really well known for its large enterprise customers, enormous companies like L'Oreal, GM, BMW and tons of others. Those companies can afford to spend a lot of money and resources on customizing their Salesforce.

However, as you might know, SMBs represent more than 47% of the workforce in the US and 97%(!) of the companies in Canada.

Salesforce now offers Salesforce Essentials, a more affordable and optimized CRM solution for SMBs. Get more details about this product here.

Einstein keynote review:

While Einstein has been around for quite a while now it's still evolving really fast and Salesforce is massively investing in this A.I. engine.

  • Einstein Analytics

  • Every Salesforce Cloud now has a specialized Analytics version allowing you to make more accurate predictions based on your data and industry.

  • If you don't know what is Einstein Analytics, it's really similar to Microsoft PowerBI or Looker (now part of the Google Cloud).

  • For more information about Einstein Analytics, more information is available here.

  • Einstein Search

  • You can now get more relevant results in your search with the help of Einstein.

  • Search your instance with voice commands.

  • Take action faster with the new Einstein Search bar that shows you some key fields you can use right from the search result.

  • More information right here!

  • Intelligent Data Prep

  • Manipulating your data to be ready for Einstein is usually a long and hard process

  • Einstein can help us chose the proper data type for every field, help us identify missing values and globally save us tons of time.

  • Out of the box connector

  • Einstein now has more than 50 out of the box connectors.

  • Services like Google BigQuery or Microsoft Azure are available built-in the platform to easily gather the data you need.

  • Mulesoft is now completely integrated into the platform, allowing you to use almost any data source you have in your ecosystem.

  • Einstein Predictions

  • While making predictions inside your Salesforce org is great, most of us have a larger ecosystem around Salesforce.

  • Einstein now offers predictions as a service so you can use your Salesforce data safely and expose the predictions outside your org.

Admin keynote review:

Salesforce admins are the lifeblood of Salesforce in their organization. While the keynote didn't make a lot of new announcements, it put forward the new features already announced in yesterday's platform and lightning keynote. Learn more about those keynote in my Dreamforce 2019: Day 2 article.

  • Salesforce Maps

  • Salesforce Maps allows you to visualize and map your customer location inside the platform.

  • It's well integrated into every declarative tool.

  • Learn more here!

So that's if for today! Keep an eye tomorrow for my last recap of this event!
